Amerrycan Theatre began as a Eureka moment for me, ten years after having left the acting circus of New York City to live with my British bride in Yorkshire. I realized that British audiences love a good American play, and that Yorkshire performers often don't get the chance to flex their acting muscles with American roles. So I created Amerrycan Theatre. We showcase excellent American works and give audiences intimate and topical theatre experiences with new adaptations of timeless classics and ground-breaking new works. Amerrycan is comprised of an ever-evolving group of professional local British and American artists - the cream of the crop. And we’re big on giving actors the kind of skills development (like comedy workshops and dialect training) that makes our work more fun and rewarding, so that we can keep refining our craft.
